John Eustace ‘to get touchline ban’ from FA after Leeds United comments

Blackburn manager John Eustace could be hit by a three-match touchline ban after his comments on the 1-1 draw against Leeds United, Keith Hackett says.

The FA have charged Eustace for implying bias and questioning the integrity of an official following the foul of Mateo Joseph that was given as a penalty at Elland Road on 1 January (FA Spokesperson, 16 January).

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, the ex-PGMOL chief admitted that Eustace will first get the chance to defend himself before possible punishments.

When they write and ask for a response to the charge, the manager will have to include any mitigating evidence that he wants to put forward,” Hackett said.

So what punishment if found guilty?

A lot will depend on any previous misconduct that he may have on his record.

“I would suggest that he will receive a fine and up to a three-match touchline ban.”

Daniel Farke is the complete opposite of Eustace, but both styles are very effective.

The German is soft-spoken and rarely speaks out of line, regardless of what happens on the pitch, whereas Eustance is willing to throw his all into it, even if it gets him in trouble.

Unfortunately for Blackburn, it may not be long until they are without their manager on the touchline, that is if the FA press forward after hearing what he has to say on the matter.

Leeds have played Rovers twice this season already, losing at Ewood Park back in November, before throwing away all three points at Elland Road in the dying moments.
