Joel Piroe ‘perfectly’ fits Daniel Farke’s system, tipped for 20 to 25 Championship goals for Leeds United
Joel Piroe is the “all-round” forward for Leeds United who fits Daniel Farke’s system ‘perfectly’, according to Paul Robinson.
After moving to Elland Road from Swansea City for £12million, the Dutchman got off the mark on his debut with a clinical goal in Leeds’ 4-3 victory over Ipswich Town.
Farke’s side had struggled in front of goal in the early stages of the season but with new additions and key players retained, they will hope their early issues will be ironed out from now.

Robinson has been impressed with Piroe, suggesting his strength as a lone number nine “perfectly” fits Farke’s system, while tipping the 24-year-old to score up to 25 goals in his debut season for Leeds United.
Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Robinson said: “Piroe scored a lot of goals last season and that’s the reason that Leeds paid the fee for him that they have. I think he will score the goals.
“But I just think without Patrick Bamford, the manager obviously hasn’t thought that Georginio Rutter is the answer as a number nine and played him slightly deeper, playing wide at times.
“But when you look at it with Willy Gnonto and Luis Sinisterra, if they are to stay at the club, and with Piroe up front on his own, it could be good.

“He’s the all-round type player that Leeds are looking for, he can hold the ball up well and he brings other players into play. He’s still only 24 years old but he’s got a bag full of experience.
“He’s yet to get a cap for the Dutch national team that has played from every level up to under twenties.
“He just fits the way that the manager plays perfectly as that lone striker, that number nine. Without Bamford, Leeds have looked light, and Piroe does look like the man who could go on and score 20 to 25 goals a season and hopefully get it out of the Championship.”
