Joe Rodon backed as ‘huge’ claim made on Leeds United defender

David Norris says Leeds United defender Joe Rodon will consistently deliver this season as a key contributor to hopeful promotion.

Rodon has established a mainstay partnership with Pascal Struijk, which has yielded six league clean sheets so far this season.

The Welsh international started the campaign slowly after a tremendous year on loan last season, but former Whites midfielder Norris backs him to be a huge player for Daniel Farke.

“I’m backing Rodon to continually perform at his best which we saw last season,” Norris exclusively told MOT Leeds News.

“He made a massive impact last year on loan and played 50 games, and getting him back permanently softened the blow of losing Archie Gray.

“Leeds have not always been at their best but have shown their strength this season, and Rodon is a huge part of a team that need to go up.”

Joe Rodon a key Leeds United operator

Rodon and Leeds United appear to suit each other and the Welshman has struck up a firm partnership with vice-captain Struijk.

The 26-year-old knows the pressure on himself and his defensive partner, with very little depth beyond them.

Farke’s options include new signing Josuha Guilavogui, who can fill in at the back, and youngster James Debayo, with Max Wober injured.

As long as Rodon is fit and firing, it is one less problem for Farke to worry about.
