Glen Kamara owes Daniel Farke after Leeds United agreement reached

We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United …

Glen Kamara is a “decent” signing for Leeds United, but he “must repay” Daniel Farke for signing him after a poor run of form at Rangers, according to Paul Robinson.

The Finnish international made the £5million switch from Ibrox to Elland Road in a long-running but late summer move and earned his first minutes on the eve of the international break as an 88th-minute substitution in the Whites’ 0-0 clash against Sheffield Wednesday.

As a full and regular international player with plenty of top-flight experience, many expect Kamara to suit Farke’s side well in the Championship and add needed depth in their promotion push.

However, Robinson has urged Kamara to perform well following an unimpactful end to his Rangers career, suggesting that while he could prove valuable, he “must repay” Farke after putting significant “faith” in him.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Robinson said: “Leeds needed players in, they need bodies through the door. I think with Luis Sinisterra leaving as well, there was space in the squad.

Obviously, he’s had a lack of game time, but he’s a player that the manager obviously likes. He’s brought Kamara in giving him an opportunity against Sheffield Wednesday.

“We didn’t see much. It wasn’t a good game for him to come into at that stage, but it’s a player that the manager clearly wants in his squad.

“It’s another body through the door and he’s a player of decent quality. You’ve been given the opportunity, I questioned his move because of lack of game time.

“But, there are reasons that certain clubs, managers and players don’t always see eye to eye. They play different systems that don’t feel it suits a player so there’s obviously a reason that he wasn’t playing at Rangers, maybe not for the lack of quality.

“Hopefully he gets the opportunity at Leeds now, but must repay the faith that he showed him by bringing him to the club.”
