Georginio Rutter Leeds United to Hoffenheim transfer prediction made as ‘difficult’ scenario emerges

We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United

Paul Robinson has suggested a season in the Championship could do Georginio Rutter “good” after the Leeds United striker was linked with an exit from Elland Road.

According to Bild (15 June), Rutter’s former employers Hoffenheim are discussing a possible return for the 21-year-old, who was made Leeds’ club-record signing in January.

Robinson believes Rutter has been extremely unfortunate during his time at Elland Road and feels his future depends on who the new boss is in West Yorkshire.

‘It’s a difficult one for him – I kind of feel for him,” Robinson exclusively told MOT Leeds News.

“Victor Orta signed him – a record fee – and he hardly touched a blade of grass in the league.

“He was never given an opportunity and his future will depend on what the new manager wants. The new manager will have different ideas on style and the way he wants to play.

“I can’t sit here and say keep him he will guarantee you 20 goals a season or send him back out on loan. For a player of his age and the potential he’s got, maybe a season in the Championship could be good for him.”

Rutter started just one Premier League fixture and featured just eleven times during the 2022/23 season.

In other Leeds United news, the club are set to react to an impending Elland Road exodus with “ambitious” incoming transfer plans.
