‘Freak results’ – Exclusive: Pundit predicts score and goal-scorers in Leeds v Leicester clash

We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…

Paul Robinson has predicted that Leeds will beat Leicester 2-1, with Patrick Bamford and Rodrigo getting the goals at Elland Road.

It would be Bamford’s seventh in seven games if he gets on the scoresheet tonight and the win would be enough to take Leeds to third in the league.

They would also leapfrog Leicester who could go second in the Premier League if they win.

Robinson claims that it will be a tough game for Leeds, and said the lack of fans is helping away sides and leading to what he dubbed “freak results” in the Premier League.

However, he thinks Leeds will ultimately have too much for Brendan Rodgers’ side.

The game is live on Sky Sports Monday Night Football.

Talking exclusively to MOT Leeds News Robinson said, “We saw what Leciester can do at the Emirates. We know they’re a tough team to beat but this is the level that Leeds have got to get to.

“I think this is going to be one of the strangest seasons we’ve seen. There have been some freak results – like Aston Villa beating Liverpool 7-2 and then losing 3-0 to Leeds, Spurs hitting six at Old Trafford.

“Not having fans in stadiums is having a huge effect especially on away teams.

“It’s hard to predict. There are always one or two results over a weekend where pundits will say, ‘I didn’t see that coming.’

“It will be another tough game for Leeds but we saw them at Villa park with a makeshift back four and how well they played.

“It’s one I’d happily take a draw away from but I do think that Leeds can win. I’m going to go 2-1 for Leeds with Rodrigo and Bamford scoring.”

Leeds are the narrow favourites for the win tonight, priced at 2.5 with Leicester just behind at 2.6. The draw has been priced at 3.6.

One thing we’re really looking forward to, in addition to the game, is Mauricio Pochettino appearing on Monday Night Football alongside Jamie Carragher.

He’s a big fan of Bielsa and we can’t wait to see what he makes of Leeds tonight.
