Finance Expert: 49ers takeover happening behind scenes already as Leeds United transfer news emerges

We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United...

Dan Plumley has insisted that the 49ers takeover is “very nearly there” as Leeds United continue their transfer splurge in the January window.

The Finance Expert admitted that the Whites remaining in the Premier League is critical as the takeover deal is much better for all parties with top-flight football.

Leeds have already confirmed the arrival of Max Wober and a club-record deal for Georginio Rutter, who arrived from Hoffenheim this weekend.

“It paints a picture of the fact that it’s very nearly there,” he exclusively told MOT Leeds News.

“It’s going to happen and we know Radrizzani comments around when he’s going to exit, so it’s happening behind the scenes already isn’t it?

“I would come back to the fact that if you look at this January window with players coming in and money being spent, I think, for all parties, this takeover deal is a much better deal with Leeds as a Premier League club and for them to continue to be a Premier League going forward so no surprise to see a couple of news faces coming in to make sure they don’t get relegated which would be a significant blow financially and linked to the takeover.”

Whether it is Radrizzani or the 49ers financing this January push, they have to be applauded for putting any takeover details to one side during this month.

All the pressure is now on Jesse Marsch to turn these performances into points, rather than excuses, or sooner rather than later, it won’t be him with the job of keeping Leeds in the Premier League.
