Farke told to axe Aaronson for Leeds v Oxford Utd after what he did – ‘So poor’
Paul Robinson has called for Daniel Farke to axe Brenden Aaronson from the Leeds United starting XI to face Oxford United on Saturday.
Leeds are set to welcome the U’s to Elland Road on 21 December, with the side hoping to get back to winning ways at the top of the Championship table after their 1-1 draw against Preston.
One player who has been singled out for his performance is Aaronson, who struggled to make much of an impact before being replaced after 65 minutes, especially after spurning his only shot at goal.
Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Robinson said: “I think it’s time to play Solomon and Gnonto, with Dan James at the No.10 role. There are better players than Brenden Aaronson, who can do a better job in that role.
“They can all play in the No.10 role and Aaronson must be the one who comes out. He was so poor against Preston, ballooning one ball that far over the bar that it’s still not landed.“
Leeds signed Aaronson from Red Bull Salzburg two and a half years ago for £24.7million.
Brenden Aaronson warrants being axed from the Leeds United XI?
While the 24-year-old has earned his spot back in Farke’s squad, having jumped a sinking ship last season, fans have given him a mixed reaction since.
The attacking midfielder scored in the 3-1 win over Middlesbrough earlier this month, but given that is his only goal contribution in the last eight appearances, Robinson has a point.

Dan James is extremely dangerous out on the flank, with plenty of space to maraud but the U’s are unlikely to give him enough space to do that, should they sit behind the ball.
Replacing Aaronson with the Welshman could be a bit of a gamble at Elland Road, but if it pays off, Farke may have yet another attacking combination to fall back on this season.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites have been tipped to be in the mix to complete an “excellent signing” from Brentford.
