FA backed to hit Leeds with new sanctions after incident vs Tottenham
Leeds United ended their unbeaten league run at Elland Road following their Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur.
Daniel Farke’s side lost 2-1 to Tottenham during a game that saw Leeds score their 800th Premier League goal, as Noah Okafor netted for the Whites in the 34th minute.
The West Yorkshire side have now slipped to 13th after seven league games as Farke called out his team’s lack of clinical finishing in front of goal.
Although it was a disappointing day for Leeds, an incident that occurred after Mohamed Kudus’ winner in the 57th minute overshadowed the result.

Keith Hackett calls for a lifetime ban as punishment
Kudus pounced on a Gabriel Gudmundsson mistake as the midfielder cut inside and rifled a left-footed attempt from just outside the box to regain Spurs’ lead.
After scoring, the Ghanaian ran over to the South Stand and did his trademark celebration, which entailed him running to the advertising hoardings and sitting on a ball boy’s stool.
Leeds supporters were enraged by the midfielder’s celebration, and one supporter opted to throw a bottle at the Spurs player in protest.
Former PGMOL head Keith Hackett exclusively told MOT Leeds News that Leeds and the Football Association must intervene to prevent this from happening again.
He said: “Doing that puts the safety of the player and stewards at risk.
“Leeds United, as a club, must take stronger action.
“Using the surveillance systems inside the stadium, they should search out the culprits and issue a lifetime ban.
“The Football Association must act and apply the appropriate sanctions.”
Fortunately, Kudus and teammates were unharmed by the bottle, but the Ghanaian could have suffered a serious head injury if hit.
Since arriving from West Ham United in the summer, this was the midfielder’s sixth goal contribution in the league this season.

Leeds United need to start taking their chances
Farke was right in his decision to boost Leeds’ attacking options in the summer, even if his side scored 95 goals in the league last season.
Signings such as Okafor and Dominic Calvert-Lewin were signs of the Whites heading in the right direction, but they are still leaving their supporters wanting more.
Calvert-Lewin was slammed for his performance against Spurs, as the striker once again highlighted his weakness and poor ability to convert one-on-one chances.

After arriving from Everton, the 28-year-old has brought in much-needed Premier League experience to the side and has managed to boost their overall quality.
It is clear that he has the ability to work himself into goal-scoring opportunities and apply pressure on his opponents, but, akin to his final seasons at Everton, the striker struggles to convert his chances.
Calvert-Lewin has an eye for goal, but more often than not, he fails to challenge opposing keepers, with many comfortably dealing with his on-target attempts.
With over 50 Premier League goals to his name, the striker has a track record of scoring goals, but he must start converting his clear-cut chances, or he may find himself losing favour among the Leeds supporters.
