Exit-bound Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara not a suitable fit for Leeds United amid transfer update

We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United …

Leeds United-linked Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara would not be a good fit to join Daniel Farke’s side as he is unlikely to make an impact on the starting lineup, according to Paul Robinson.

The 27-year-old Finnish international is set to depart Ibrox this summer and has not trained or played with the first team this season in Glasgow. Gers boss Michael Beale stated, as quoted in the print edition of the Daily Record (12 August, pg 61) that he “is the player who’s definitely going to move on in this window.”

The Daily Mail reported (7 August) that Leeds are weighing up a bid for out-of-favour Kamara as a Tyler Adams replacement following his move to Chelsea as they look to improve their midfield.

However, Robinson has mooted a move for the Ibrox man, claiming that his lack of first-team football makes him unable to make a significant impact on the Leeds starting 11.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Robinson said: “I have not really seen that much of him because he’s been left out of the squad at Rangers.

“He’s not playing at that level and Leeds will want players that come in and make an impact until your starting lineup.

“If you look at the likelihood of players that could potentially leave whether it’s Luis Sinisterra, Crysencio Summerville or Willy Gnonto. In the midfield, they’ve already got Ampadu, and Gray too. I think obviously they’ll look to bolster that area.

“But you’re looking for players that are going to come in and make an impact. Leeds aren’t in a place where they can take a chance on a player where they, they think they’ll bring a player in and this might work or it might not.

“They’re in a situation now where they’re trying to bounce back at the first attempts. They want players who are proven players and who will improve the starting 11, or at least make a very good case for a start in 11.

“I’m not sure he’s one.”

In other Leeds United news, Robinson claims the Whites’ latest injury could play into their hands amid his Premier League links.
