FC Zurich striker Wilfried Gnonto now wants to leave the club as Leeds United wait in the wings for a major transfer, according to Francesco Guerrieri.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, the Calciomercato journalist has reported that Hoffenheim and Feyenoord are also in the race for the Italian international.

Leeds are on the lookout for a new striker before the window slams shut in less than two weeks time, with a deadline-busting move now on the cards for Gnonto.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Guerrieri shared the latest coming from the camp of Gnonto as we enter the final weeks of the summer window.

“He wants leave Zurich,” he said.

“There are also Hoffenheim and Feyenoord.”

Late Push?

With three clubs all pushing for Gnonto, we could see a domino effect.

Shoud one of them make their move with an official bid, the other two could follow suit and that is how the price can get higher and higher in these next two weeks.

The young attacker was an unknown before this summer until he burst onto the international scene with Italy in the UEFA Nations League and scored against Germany.

After moving on from the academy at Inter Milan, the 18-year-old has picked up league winners’ silverware in Switzerland and is now clearly wanting his next move.

That jump into the Premier League at Elland Road will no doubt turn his head too, with a move away more likely than not now, it just depends on who will win the race.

All eyes are now on this one.
