Exclusive: Pundit names four priority signings for Leeds, including ‘outstanding’ striker

We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…

Paul Robinson thinks that Leeds need to prioritise four signings this summer to consolidate in the Premier League.

He thinks that Leeds need to sign a goalkeeper and a striker alongside Ben White and Jack Harrison.

Leeds have already confirmed that they will take Harrison on another season-long loan.

They have also announced the signing of young goalkeeper Illan Meslier for a fee of around £5m. However, Robinson believes they need to strengthen again in that area with the future of Kiko Casilla uncertain.

Robinson thinks that Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard would be an “outstanding” signing.

Talking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Robinson said, “Leeds absolutely have to prioritise four signings – a striker, Jack Harrison, Ben White and a goalkeeper. That’s where their priorities have to start.

“Said Benrahma has been linked. He’s a really good player and I’ve no doubt he can do it in the Premier League, but where he fits in under Bielsa I’m not so sure.

“I mentioned Teemu Pukki before but he’s been disappointing. He’s not really played himself into a move. It’s rough when you’re playing for a struggling team but there are reasons why he’s not been playing.

“Odsonne Eduoard would be an outstanding signing or [Aleksandar] Mitrovic. If Bournemouth go down then Callum Wilson or Josh King would fit the bill perfectly.”

This seems bang on the money.

Leeds are being linked with a lot of players and we also think a new striker is of paramount importance.

Edouard would be a brilliant signing but we’re also excited by the emergence of Jonathan David as a new target on Sunday.
