We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United
Paul Robinson has delivered a stinging response to the new leaked Leeds third kit saying that “anything is better then the red they’re wearing at the moment”.
The maroon kit caused a big controversy with the fans who said that Leeds should never play in the colours of their bitter rivals.
The new third kit isn’t red but it is an unusual shade of lilac.
Robinson said he didn’t care what colour it is as long as it’s not red.
Talking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Robinson said, “It’s purple isn’t it?
“Listen, anything’s better than the red they’re wearing at the moment.
“Who in their right minds at Elland Road thought that would be a good idea to have Leeds United playing in any shade of red?
“That didn’t go down well with the supporters and I still can’t get used to seeing Leeds United play in red.
“Any third kit you want to put up, pink, green, anything is better for me than red.”
We’ve got to admit, the maroon kit has grown on us and it looked great against the blue of Man City.
However, we get that some fans still have an issue with it.
We quite like the lilac kit as well, although we’re hoping this means we can get a yellow away kit for the 21/22 campaign.
