Exclusive: 'Outstanding' – Paul Robinson thrilled with early team news from Leeds v Hull
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…
Paul Robinson is thrilled that Kalvin Phillips is coming straight back into the Leeds side for the game against Hull tonight.
Phillips missed the Huddersfield game after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season, but Marcelo Bielsa confirmed in his press conference that he would come straight back into the starting XI on Tuesday night.
The player who makes way is goal-scorer Gjanni Alioski, which is harsh on him after a brilliant all-round display v Huddersfield.

Talking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Robinson said, “It’s right he comes straight back in. Kalvin Phillips is the best Leeds player for me, I think he’s been outstanding.
“His performances speak for itself, he’s a leader. Phillips and Ben White are the spine of the team and it’s right that they’re the two first names on the team sheet.

“Kalvin Phillips breaks play up and his ability to set off the attack and his all-round fitness… He can get up and down, he’s a box-to-box midfielder.
“We saw Sheffield United in the summer were after him, he’s been linked with Manchester United – that’s how much he’s improved and how important he is to Leeds.”
Leeds are on a run of six wins in a row and will make it seven if they beat Hull at Elland Road on Tuesday night.
That would equal their best run since manager Marcelo Bielsa took over in the summer of 2018.
The team that ended that run in December last year? Hull City.
A win would also take Leeds back to the top of the Championship.
