Exclusive: Leeds in contact with EFL after £61m paperwork emerges
Leeds United showcased the damage from Premier League relegation after publishing their latest accounts at Elland Road.
After missing out on promotion at the first time of asking in the playoff final against Southampton, Paraag Marathe and the 49ers had to limit the damage.
Daniel Farke currently has Leeds sitting second in the Championship with seven games to play, albeit level on points with Burnley in third.

Leeds United in talks with EFL after new reveal
Dan Plumley has reacted to the latest accounts, pointing out the £61million loss before tax as something that Leeds will be mindful of.
The football finance expert admits the Whites will have been in contact with the EFL, with nothing to suggest there is a problem, as things stand at Elland Road.
“With any club, you need to be mindful of the relegation impact,” Plumley exclusively told MOT Leeds News.
“You can see that in these accounts, we know the broadcasting situation and the parachute payments, which are contributing to the losses being higher.
“They will have planned for the loss, but £61million is a big number, and if you look at that in the context of the EFL regulations, then it’s something they will be mindful of.
“They will have been in contact with the EFL, of course, and there’s nothing I’ve seen to suggest there is a problem there, and we’re only looking at one year, but it does put the pressure on forward-looking.
“If we roll that through to where the club are now, we’ve talked at length about the importance of getting back to the Premier League as soon as possible and with losses like that and the way the EFL regulations are set, the sooner you can get back, the better.”

Marathe and 49ers want promotion now
It will have likely been made very clear to Farke at the start of this season that he probably won’t get a third chance to guide Leeds back to the Premier League.
Championship | W | D | L | P |
Sheffield United | 26 | 7 | 6 | 83 |
Leeds | 23 | 12 | 4 | 81 |
Burnley | 22 | 15 | 2 | 81 |
With the money on the line and parachute payments running down, those losses will only increase in the next accounts, but with the hope that it brings promotion again.
