Exclusive: Joseph Paintsil set to stay at Genk after Leeds United bid

Joseph Paintsil now looks set to stay at Genk after Leeds United saw their bid rejected in recent days, according to Sacha Tavolieri.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Tavolieri said: “No, I believe he will stay now to KRC Genk.”

Cross it off.

This looks like one late move that we can all cross off the list of potential incomings.

Leeds believed that Genk had moved the goalposts when it came to rejecting their offer, so it is no surprise to see The 49ers Enterprises putting their foot down and potentially leaving this one behind.

Paraag Marathe has built his career through tough negotiating in the NFL with the San Francisco 49ers, so if he doesn’t see this deal as worth it, he will move on.

Leeds are much better run now under the American consortium than they were under Andrea Radrizzani and Victor Orta, a duo that may have pushed this deal through with no regard to our financial position.

This is one to watch if the conditions of a deal change closer to the deadline, but as of right now, it looks as though Paintsil will be staying in Belgium and the Whites will be looking elsewhere.

In other Leeds United news, a possible move for a £12.5million player may now be off
