Leeds United will be the ones deciding whether or not they want to sack Marcelo Bielsa and not the San Francisco 49ers.

That's according to Dr Dan Plumley, who claims that their relationship is still at a very nascent stage.

Despite the fact that the 49ers increased their stake in the club, Andrea Radrizzani is still responsible for making the big decisions.

While Leeds are unlikely to part ways with the Argentine, as things stand, they could change their mind in the future.

The imminent takeover in 2023 will have no bearing on this decision as it's not something that has been included in the fine print.

Speaking to MOT Leeds News, the Sheffield Hallam University expert said, "As it stands right now, that's unlikely that they'll have any influence.

"The relation between Leeds and the 49ers is still in its infancy.

"In the short term, it will be Leeds United and Radrizanni who will be tasked to make that call and not 49ers."

Leeds United currently sit in 16th place, eight points clear of the drop zone.

Should they get relegated, their valuation reduces and Radrizzani will not get the £400m+ that he is likely to receive should the Whites retain their Premier League status.
