Douglas Luiz ‘to clear medical’ as Leeds United make transfer move
Leeds United are reportedly keen on signing former Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz this summer.
Dr Rajpal Brar, an injury expert, has gauged the Juventus ace’s recent fitness record ahead of a potential medical.
Luiz spent five seasons at Villa Park before moving for Italy in 2024.

Luiz not expected to face issues with his medical despite hamstring injury concerns
The Elland Road outfit may take a closer look at the Brazilian’s history of hamstring and muscular issues before making their decision, according to Dr Brar.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Dr Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and a Sports Scientist, said about Luiz: “Leeds may take a closer look at his history of hamstring and muscular injuries to assess the risk of recurrence and determine if there are any outlier or high-risk issues.
“However, based on his record in recent seasons, I do not see him facing issues with his medical.
“The prior Premier League experience will also help with his adaptation.”

Leeds United must consider signing Luiz this summer
Luiz has prior Premier League experience and, most importantly, will strengthen the Leeds United playing eleven.
They need legs in the middle of the park and having someone in there who has done well previously at Aston Villa will certainly help.
Daniel Farke could also get the best out of him, playing him potentially in a three-man midfield alongside Ethan Ampadu and one of Ilia Gruev or Ao Tanaka.
He is arguably in his prime and could give the Elland Road outfit two or three good years, so this is an investment worth making.
It remains to be seen how high up on the priority list the Brazilian really is.
