Leeds United: Don Goodman shares ‘ridiculous’ Crysencio Summerville view after what he’s seen

Don Goodman says Crysencio Summerville and many of his Leeds United team-mates would walk into any other team in the Championship.

The Netherlands Under-21s international was recently hailed as the division’s best player by Watford caretaker manager Tom Cleverley.

Summerville has 17 goals and eight assists in 39 outings this term, albeit he has now gone back-to-back games without a goal involvement.

Asked if he considers Summerville the best player in the division, Goodman told MOT Leeds News: “He’s got some stiff competition for that tag.

“He’s having a huge influence on Leeds this season with his goals and assists. He’s part of an incredible array of attacking talent Leeds have got.

“The players they have got in attack is just ridiculous for Championship level. They’ve got six or seven that would walk into other teams, Summerville being one of those.”

Summerville’s 25 direct goal involvements in this season’s Championship is level with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and bettered by Morgan Whittaker (27), Sammie Szmodics (27) and Adam Armstrong (31).

The Dutchman has been superb form the Whites, but disappointing results against Coventry City and Sunderland have masked that somewhat.

If Leeds do go on to earn promotion back to the Premier League, though, whether automatically or via the play-offs, Summerville would have played as big a part as anyone.
