Doctor issues injury update on Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford

Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford does not face long-term injury risks as he recently took injections, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that the injections could be for the pain or PRP, which is known as platelet-rich plasma therapy.

The English striker has not been available for the Whites since the 4-3 win against Middlesbrough on 22 April.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds NewsBrar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Bamford:

My guess is that he has a bone bruise which is a trabecular fracture which can be quite painful in the knee.

“The injections may be for pain or they may be something like PRP (platelet-rich plasma therapy) to help restart the healing process.

Not many long-term effects if he takes them but the club will be monitoring the frequency if it happens more often.”

Patrick Bamford has not been a regular for Leeds United

Bamford has been a bit-part player for Leeds this season, making 15 league starts and 18 appearances off the bench.

Daniel Farke has opted to go for Joel Piroe and Georginio Rutter in the attack over the 30-year-old.

The English striker missed the first leg against Norwich and is expected to be ruled out of the next one too but could make it for the final should Leeds progress.
