Doctor issues injury update on Leeds United sensation Rory Mahady
Leeds United sensation Rory Mahady will have been tested after the Manchester City under-18s clash on Friday, 10 May, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that while he appeared to have picked up a problem, it appeared to be innocuous and he could carry on for the rest of the game.
This comes after BBC journalist Adam Pope claimed that he went down “suddenly” which initially looked concerning.
Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Mahady:
It doesn’t seem like there was much in it as he was able to play on.
“The instant reaction would’ve been trying to figure out what’s happened and how the player is feeling.
“In the post match, you will follow up and if needed, do more testing which is surely what they would’ve done.
“He does seem all right to continue training as per normal.”
Rory Mahady avoids a serious injury while playing for Leeds United
The 17-year-old was on the wrong side of a 4-0 scoreline and faced an injury scare, so it wasn’t the ideal scenario for him.
However, he will be relieved that it was nothing long term and the club will have taken the appropriate measures after the game.
Hopefully, he can keep pushing through the ranks and he could potentially be in contention for first-team football in a few years.
