Deal on the table for Andrea Radrizzani to sell Leeds United in massive deal – pundit
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United...
Andrea Radrizzani is looking to sell up at Leeds United this summer, according to Paul Robinson.
In November 2021, the San Francisco 49ers raised their stake at Leeds to 44 per cent, with Paraag Marathe becoming the Yorkshire club’s new vice-chairman.
On 8 December, The Athletic claimed that the NFL franchise has the option to completely buy Leeds before 2024 for a fee of at least £400million.

Earlier this week (24 May), The Telegraph reported that now Leeds’ Premier League status has been confirmed for at least another year, the 49ers are likely to push to complete their takeover at Elland Road this summer.
It is understood that the Americans would spend more than Radrizzani has done at Elland Road and Robinson believes that a move to appoint Jesse Marsch as the manager earlier this year suggests how the power is shifting.
“I think the investment will come in from the 49ers,” Robinson told MOT Leeds News.
“Radrizzani’s gamble has paid off, in all honesty.
“I think he’s looked at the window and thought he doesn’t want to invest because he can stay in the Premier League and sell the club without spending any more money.

“Jesse Marsch was probably a 49ers appointment, which would then make you think there’d be more investment coming in should Leeds stay up.
“I think he’s looking to sell to the 49ers, there’s been a deal on the table for a while.
“I think more investment will come in and Radrizzani will keep some kind of stake in the club.
“But I think there will be an American influx.”
As well as having Marsch as their manager, Leeds also signed USA midfielder Brenden Aaronson this week (26 May) from Red Bull Salzburg.
He was eyed up by Marcelo Bielsa in January prior to Marsch’s arrival, which suggests that could have also been a transfer that was pushed by the 49ers.
In other Leeds United news, this player is considering his options at Elland Road despite only signing last year.
