Daniel Farke told to make Josuha Guilavogui decision ahead of Millwall v Leeds United

Paul Robinson believes Daniel Farke will leave Josuha Guilavogui on the Leeds United bench against Millwall on Wednesday.

The 34-year-old arrived at Elland Road in October as a free transfer, helping reinforce the midfield, and made quite the impression after making his debut against Plymouth Argyle on Saturday 2 November.

Guilavogui has already become a much-loved figure at Elland Road despite only playing 15 minutes, though Robinson cannot see Farke changing his midfield duo on 6 November.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, he said: “You look at the squad they’ve got, and the players in the starting XI, the team selection has been pretty consistent. I can’t see him starting.

“He came on [v Plymouth Argyle] and did very well, but I don’t see him starting tonight. I think Daniel Farke sticks with tried and tested, but he’s certainly given the manager another option.”

It would be a big call to replace either Joe Rothwell or Ao Tanaka in the centre of midfield with the new signing, though he was quite impressive against Plymouth.

Despite long-term injuries to Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev, Leeds have dealt well with the blows by trusting Tanaka and Rothwell, and are now just three points off league leaders Sunderland.

The Whites are now unbeaten in eight matches, winning five and drawing three while also keeping five clean sheets in that time, seeing them keep their third-place spot in the Championship table.

A victory at The Den could take Farke’s side one step closer to Premier League promotion, the main aim after missing out on the feat via the Championship play-offs last term.
