Daniel Farke ‘to make brutal transfer decisions’ at Leeds United this summer
Leeds United will be in for a busy summer transfer window if they are successful in their attempt to make a return to the Premier League.
Leeds remain in the driving seat for promotion ahead of the final eight games, though performances will need to improve from the recent showings.
Their latest 2-2 draw with QPR means that the Whites have won just one of their last four Championship encounters, with the chasing duo of Sheffield United and Burnley tight on their tails.
However, if that is achieved, Leeds will be in for a hectic summer period when it comes to recruitment, and Daniel Farke will have to make some tough decisions.

Leeds will need to offload players this summer
While Leeds have impressed this season, question marks remain over the ability of several players to make the step up to Premier League level.
Junior Firpo has already struggled in the past, while Illan Meslier is unlikely to thrive in the Premier League, with Paul Robinson – when speaking to MOT Leeds News – claiming that Farke will need to be decisive in the window.
He said: “Recruitment is huge. You can go and waste money on a player. We’ve seen clubs spend tens, hundreds of millions on players that haven’t worked. You look at Manchester United’s recruitment of late to take it to a different echelon. You look at the likes of Antony and Casemiro, the wages and the money that’s been spent there.
“If Leeds go up. The investment level has got to be there, but you’ve got to invest cleverly. You’ve got to buy the right players.

“You go and sign a shed load of players and if you can’t mould a team or a squad together, that’s your problem. You sign cleverly and you sign in positions that you need first of all, and you don’t sign luxury players. You look at how you recruit players.
“You recruit in areas, first of all, that you need to strengthen and there’s got to be brutal decisions made. You sit and look at your list of players and you go, okay, well, he’s not Premier League quality. He’s not Premier League quality.
“You only bring in better than what you’ve got and you only bring in either Premier League proven or top league proven in other leagues. It’s not necessarily spending hundreds of millions. It’s spending a lot, but spending a lot wisely on the correct players. That’s why recruitment is so important.”

Illan Meslier could fall victim to ‘brutal’ Farke axe
Quality trumps quantity all the time, and while Leeds have sufficient depth for the Championship, it would get exposed massively in the Premier League.
All three promoted teams are set to fall back down into the Championship this season, showcasing just how big the gap is between the two divisions.
Leeds will remain fixated on cementing their promotion first, but then attention must quickly turn to recruitment plans.
