Dan James ‘has a point to prove’ after what has happened at Leeds United
Dan James has been integral to Leeds United this season, though question marks will emerge over his ability to do that next season.
For the first time in two seasons at Elland Road, Leeds fans can breathe a sigh of relief, having seen their side secure promotion back to the Premier League in style against Stoke City.
Joel Piroe was the man of the moment for that clash, but James has been the man of the season for the Whites, and they simply wouldn’t be heading where they are without him.
With that said, next season will provide the Welshman with a fresh challenge, and one that he hasn’t passed with flying colours previously.

Premier League football is an entirely different prospect
Doubts have already emerged over Daniel Farke’s ability to manage in the Premier League, and the same will be said about several players who have failed at that level before.
James is one of them, but after the remarkable campaign he has had, Paul Robinson thinks he will have a point to prove.
Speaking to MOT Leeds News, he said: “There’s a lot of players at Leeds that have a point to prove, and there’s going to be some investment in that squad, because this season, more than any other, shows the gap between the Premier League and the Championship is getting bigger.
Premier League | Games | Goals | Assists |
James | 106 | 12 | 12 |
“Somebody like Dan James, I think he’s one of the players in the starting 11 in the squad that will handle the rigours of Premier League football. I think he will be a handful and a problem in the Premier League.
“I think maybe before he was reliant on his pace, but he’s become more of an intelligent footballer, and with his creativity, I think he’ll do well in the Premier League for Leeds next year.“

Daniel Farke must be backed next season
First and foremost, Leeds need to decide whether or not Daniel Farke will be afforded the chance to manage them in the Premier League, but if they do, they need to back him.
Recruitment will be crucial for Leeds this summer, and they have no margin for error.
