Crysencio Summerville clauses emerges as Leeds United to secure more windfall
Leeds United could pull off “brilliant” business if they secure further windfall from clauses attached to the sale of Crysencio Summerville, Dan Plumley has said.
The Whites could earn up to £34million from West Ham, with £4m of that linked to a first senior international cap with The Netherlands [Sean Whetstone].
It is said other “extravagant” clauses are attached, and Plumley, a football finance expert, admitted that Leeds were likely trying to secure as much money as they could.
“It’s a really good example of some of the new clauses or innovative ways that are being inserted into contracts,” he exclusively told MOT Leeds News.
“Particularly in terms of sell-on and performance-related bonuses that you can get further down the line.
“If you are going to lose a player that you don’t really want to, of course, there is the transfer fee of what is front and centre of what you want for that player, but if you can put in some other clauses and this one is a really interesting one, it’s brilliant business if that does come off.

“You’re trying to secure some of that money back in the long run as well and make it work outside of the transfer for the longer term.”

Daniel Farke will not have been happy to lose the likes of Summerville, but he was realistic to know that over £30m is huge money for a Championship player.
With Georginio Rutter and Archie Gray also being sold on, it likely eclipses the summer where Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips left Elland Road.
PSR is a constant issue in football now, so any further windfall from Summerville would be excellent.
