Cresswell and Gelhardt could start for Leeds United in Carabao Cup tie v Arsenal – pundit
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United.
Charlie Cresswell and Joe Gelhardt could start for Leeds United when they play Arsenal in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night, according to Paul Robinson.
Leeds have not been performing too well in the Premier League and that means Marcelo Bielsa may be forced into numerous changes at the Emirates to ensure his side is fresh to play a vital clash against Norwich on Sunday.
Cresswell and Gelhardt, both 19, have impressed in their senior appearances for the Whites this season with Under-23s striker Gelhardt winning a late penalty in the draw with Wolves on Saturday.

When asked if Cresswell and Gelhardt could start, Robinson told MOT Leeds News: “I think we’ll see a lot of youngsters come into the side, yes. They’ve been very exciting to watch.
“Bielsa has changed it up in cup competitions and even when they played lower league opposition in the cups last year, he changed it up but not overly.
“I can see a mixture of experienced players in there but you hope that Kalvin Phillips and Patrick Bamford aren’t that far away. They haven’t been out that long but do they need any game-time?
“It’s a question for the manager because does he want to get them match-sharp for a massive, massive game at the weekend against Norwich?”

Cresswell and Gelhardt both starred for Leeds in the last round of the Carabao Cup when they beat Fulham on penalties after a goalless 120 minutes.
Gelhardt came off the bench to score in the shoot-out while Cresswell played the whole match as the Whites kept a clean sheet.
In other Leeds United news, a Sky Sports pundit has urged the Whites to sign this international ace amid transfer speculation.
