Coventry star ‘to boost Leeds starting XI’ amid £8m transfer news
Coventry City star Ben Sheaf would be a positive addition to the Leeds United squad, according to Paul Robinson.
Daniel Farke’s side are ready to submit a bid for the 26-year-old midfielder, according to Leeds United News, with the Sky Blues willing to listen to offers to stay in line with financial requirements.
It is understood Leeds’ Championship rivals would listen to offers in excess of £8million this month, with a number of Premier League clubs also keeping an eye on the player’s situation.
Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Robinson said: “He’s a good player. Came through the Arsenal academy, is 26 years of age and is playing regularly at Coventry. The opportunity for someone to capitalise on Coventry’s financial situation might be what gets a deal done.
“He’s had loans at Stevenage, Doncaster, and Coventry before signing permanently, and I think he’s excelled in the last two or three years, also playing at international level with England Under-18s.
Leeds United to sign Coventry City star Ben Sheaf?
“Would he improve the squad? Yes, he would. Would you get in every week? Arguably, he would be put in. A player like that would obviously make the team better but I don’t think there’s a huge rush.”
With Ao Tanaka, Joe Rothwell, Ilia Gruev and Ethan Ampadu all available and back from injury, Farke has little need for a new midfield signing before the winter transfer window slams shut.

However, £8million for the midfield talent is not an offer that the Whites can turn down, a player who has made 132 appearances for the Sky Blues since making his move permanent in 2021.
Farke would likely approve of a move for Sheaf, though it remains to be seen who he would replace in the Leeds starting XI, with Tanaka and Rothwell impressing over the last few weeks.
