Archie Gray decision made at Leeds United as David Norris shares transfer verdict
Former Leeds United midfielder David Norris expects Archie Gray to remain at Elland Road beyond this summer in order to keep supporters happy.
Gray was an instrumental figure in helping Daniel Farke’s side reach 90 points in the Championship last season – belying his tender years of just 18.
Amid expected player departures from West Yorkshire, including that of Crysencio Summerville and Wilfried Gnonto as Leeds ensure they meet PSR criteria, Gray’s emotional ties to the club mean Norris predicts the youngster is the most likely of the Whites’ prized assets to remain.
“Of those [players linked away], I would probably say Gray is likeliest to stay – he’s Leeds through and through,” Norris exclusively told MOT Leeds News.
“He’s obviously got a lot of interest – he’s very young and doing really well – but I don’t think there’s an immediate rush for him to move on.
“It goes without saying that Leeds won’t want to sell him – keeping players like that who have that family history with the club goes a long way to keeping the fans onside.”
Archie Gray linked with lucrative move away from Leeds United
Gray has naturally garnered plenty of interest and is on almost every elite club’s radar, given his contribution whilst still a teenager.
The versatile young star has most recently been linked with Tottenham Hotspur, who are reportedly willing to offer Oliver Skipp in a player-plus-cash deal [The Athletic, 13 June].
Borussia Dortmund have also been credited with recent interest [TEAMtalk, 14 June], but the player appears settled at Leeds and the club certainly wouldn’t take any lowball offers this early in the window and with other assets still on their books to raise funds.

Summerville, Gnonto and perhaps Georginio Rutter are top performers who may have to be sacrificed before a sale for Gray is considered, though it could be the England youth international who is the subject of the highest number of incoming bids throughout the summer.
An anxious period awaits for the Leeds faithful, who will be overjoyed should a further developed Gray remain in the team come September’s end to the window.
