Adam Forshaw start predicted by pundit ahead of Leeds United clash v Aston Villa

We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United...

Adam Forshaw should start for Leeds United against Aston Villa on Wednesday night if he’s fit enough, according to Paul Robinson.

Forshaw, 30, was forced to sit out of Leeds’ last Premier League match when they lost to Newcastle United on 22 January.

Marcelo Bielsa has confirmed that Forshaw is available to return to action [Yorkshire Post] and even if it means he plays 60 or 70 minutes, Robinson wants to see one of Leeds’ most in-form players start at Villa Park.

Speaking to MOT Leeds News, Robinson said: “Forshaw plays if he’s fit enough.

There are that many sports science and medical staff around the team these days so they’ll know exactly what level players are at and how many minutes they can play.

If he’s anything like completing an hour or 70 minutes, he plays.

He’s been the best player of the season.”

Forshaw has played 16 times in all competitions for Leeds this season after successfully returning from an almost-two-year-long injury absence.

Even though he spent so much time out, the ex-Middlesbrough midfielder has emerged as one of Leeds’ fittest players and has thoroughly shined throughout most of his Premier League appearances.

If he’s fit and available from kick-off against Villa, he could replace either Robin Koch or Mateusz Klich in the heart of Leeds’ midfield as they started in the 1-0 defeat to Newcastle last time out.
