Leeds to sell Brenden Aaronson to make room for ‘major signing’ – Exclusive

Brenden Aaronson could be one of several Leeds United players replaced in the summer transfer window.

Leeds United’s promotion celebrations have been ongoing at Elland Road, but it won’t be long until full focus turns to the upcoming summer transfer window.

Daniel Farke is set to have a big budget to start assembling his Premier League squad, and will also need to make decisions on those currently present.

With that in mind, some Whites stars may find themselves dropping down the pecking order, with Aaronson likely to be one of those.

Leeds need to upgrade on Aaronson this summer

Aaronson, despite being a regular under Farke, has struggled to have the desired impact at Leeds, and could be one that people have doubts over as the Whites transition to Premier League football.

Leeds will be looking for attacking reinforcements amid links to Omari Hutchinson, but Paul Robinson doesn’t think he will be the one to de-throne Aaronson from the 10 role.

Speaking to MOT Leeds News, he said: “Aaronson has struggled in the Premier League, and he may not be strong enough to compete in it, but Hutchinson isn’t the right one to replace him.

“£25 million on the grander scale of things in the Premier League spend isn’t a lot. But for a club like Leeds going up, it’s a major signing. And for me, Omari Hutchinson, I’m not so sure that’s the one that makes the fans sit up and go, oh, that’s a top signing. That’s the one that we need.

Aaronson’s numbers were poor in the Championship.

“There are players in that Leeds side that are still there from the Premier League days. The two that stick out, Brenden Aaronson and Junior Firpo, couldn’t do it in the Premier League. The Premier League was too quick for Aaronson. He didn’t have that quality.

“But for me, Omari Hutchinson, you’re paying a lot for unproven at that level, and Leeds need tried and tested in the Premier League. “

Farke needs the tools to survive in Premier League

Staying up after promotion is a tough task, but it’s one that Leeds need to find a way to overcome if they are to continue their progression.

However, to achieve that, Leeds need to recruit well and ensure that Farke has a squad that is well-equipped to deal with the intensity of the Premier League.
