49ers money to come in for January at Leeds United after Phil Hay reveal – pundit
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United.
Paul Robinson wants Leeds United to invest money in their squad in the January transfer window with the San Francisco 49ers set to increase their foothold at Elland Road.
The Athletic’s Phil Hay has suggested that “we will see investment again this season” from the 49ers, who own 37 per cent of the West Yorkshire outfit.
It is understood that would change the division of equity between them and current majority shareholder Andrea Radrizzani, who’s overseen a major transformation at Elland Road in his time in the boardroom.

Robinson doesn’t want Radrizzani or the 49ers to wait around counting their chickens when it comes to fresh investment as new players are needed as soon as the January transfer window opens.
Speaking to MOT Leeds News, Robinson said: “If the investment is coming then use it in January.
“Money’s available now, you can borrow or you can get money from places if you’ve got money coming in.
” If there’s money from the 49ers potentially coming in at the end of the season then they can bring that forward.
” It’s probably important that the transfer business they were going to do at the end of the season is brought forward to January in a similar way to what Sir Alex Ferguson did once at Manchester United.
“I can’t remember what window it was but he brought the next budget forward because he knew he needed his squad bolstering.
“It’s important Leeds do that in January because it’s been highlighted in the last two or three games how light they are.”
Leeds lost 1-0 to Southampton on Saturday with Junior Firpo, Luke Ayling, Kalvin Phillips, Raphinha and Patrick Bamford all unavailable.
Robin Koch, Diego Llorente, Adam Forshaw and Jack Harrison have also been unavailable in spells this season.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites want to re-sign this former midfielder in January.
