Wober could receive green light for Leeds United exit amid £10m transfer update

Max Wober could finally leave Leeds United as a new defensive option has been eyed ahead of the January transfer window.

The 26-year-old has had an injury-ravaged campaign at Elland Road, which has seen him limited to just four Championship appearances.

With that being said, the Austria international has been an unused substitute on nine occasions this season and, while it has been suggested he is not seeking a January exit, if he continues to be sidelined then you would assume he’ll be considering his future.

If the Whites are to let the ex-Ajax man depart, Daniel Farke will want a replacement and now a £10million transfer is being weighed up.

A deal is being considered for Nico Elvedi who has been made available for transfer by Borussia Monchengladbach [Givemesport].

The 28-year-old has made over 300 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit, featuring in the Champions League across three different seasons.

If the Elland Road club are to outlay £10m on the Switzerland international, room would have to be made in the first-team squad.

This could see Wober depart LS11 which may suit him well after being linked with a move away in the summer window.

It is unclear how much the Whites can demand for the defender in the winter but a fee in the region of £10m could cover the cost for Elvedi in what could prove to be a smart piece of business.

If Farke and Co. start the window with a defender signing while also letting a fringe player go for a positive fee, that would arguably represent an ideal start to January.

In other Leeds United news, Farke has surely been handed a January loan boost after what happened last night.
