View: Pascal Struijk set for start v West Brom after Phillips injury update
Pascal Struijk has been one of the big Leeds United success stories this season.
Tasked with playing at centre-back at Anfield against the champions on the first game of the season, the 21-year-old suffered a few early blips but has come out shining.
He struggled to get to grips with the defensive midfield role when Kalvin Phillips was out and was hooked after 21 minutes against Aston Villa when he was on a booking and looking like getting sent off.
To his credit, he didn’t let that affect him and he’s gone on to make 22 starts in a brilliant season for Leeds.
And, when Phillips went off with a knock at half-time in the game against Southampton last night, Struijk proved that he can now step up and do a job there too.
He was excellent last night and we think he is now almost certain to start there on Sunday in the final game of the season.

Kalvin Phillips was spotted limping away from the game last night and he’s got a big date with England in the Euros this summer.

Robin Koch and Mateusz Klich have already been given early leave to ensure they’re fit for their countries.
We can’t see Bielsa risking Phillips ahead of such a huge summer for the player.
And Struijk is more than capable of playing his role against West Brom.
If Phillips is fit he can have a 15-minute run-out towards the end in front of the fans, hopefully when the three points have already been secured.
Struijk can get the adulation of supporters who firmly believe that he could be the next club superstar.
