Raphinha puts in impressive display on debut for Brazil
Leeds United fans will be pleased to see Raphinha continue his rich vein of form on the international stage as well.
Brazil ended up winning the game 3-1 against Venezuela on Thursday, but it was far from smooth sailing for the South American giants.
They were losing the game 1-0 at half-time after which Raphinha came on and played a key role in turning the fortunes for his national side.
He came on for Everton Ribeiro who endured a quiet first half and Tite’s decision to bring on the Leeds man for his debut proved to be a masterstroke.
According to LUFC DATA, the 24-year-old set up two of the three goals for Brazil on the night and showed just how vital he can be to this side ahead of the World Cup next year.
He completed all but two of his passes, registering an impressive accuracy of 91 per cent.
It’s a shame that it’s taken Brazil so long to recognise his talents, but now that they have they’ll notice why he’s so highly admired by the Leeds faithful.
Every game, he puts in a minimum of 7/10 and never seems to go missing regardless of how the team is playing.
He’s one of those rare players who’s always looking to make things happen and hopefully, he can nail down a spot in the Brazil XI ahead of next winter’s competition in Qatar.
Marcelo Bielsa has undoubtedly played a key role in taking his game to the next level and he will be quietly pleased by just how well he’s developed over the last 12 months.
