Patrick Bamford finished, Leeds ‘contract to be terminated’ after Farke update
Patrick Bamford could finally be done at Leeds United after what Daniel Farke has revealed at Thorp Arch.
The 31-year-old has gone nearly two months without making a matchday squad due to an ongoing injury concern at Elland Road.
This has resulted in the one-cap England international making just 10 appearances in the Championship, every single one coming off the bench.
Now it appears that the striker could be preparing to pack his bags in LS11 as his manager speaks out.

Farke struggles to give Bamford injury timeline at Leeds United
It is safe to say that the Whites have done quite alright this campaign without the influence of the former Chelsea youngster in their squad.
This has handed the perfect opportunity for Joel Piroe to shine as number nine in Yorkshire, but that doesn’t reduce the frustration surrounding the Englishman.
Farke will want the striker back soon to give his squad a boost as they hit the run in at the end of the Championship season.
Stat | Joel Piroe | Patrick Bamford |
Goals | 15 | 0 |
Shots on target | 33 | 1 |
Successful dribbles | 10 | 1 |
Touches | 773 | 58 |
Defensive actions | 29 | 2 |
With that being said, the German has been unable to offer a timeline on the return of the forward in quotes shared by Beren Cross on X (27 February).
The Leeds boss said: “Struggling to give a timeframe on Bamford. At the start of January, I said four to six weeks. He is still feeling something.
“Not back in team training yet. It lasts as long as it lasts. He is working desperately to get back.”
Given that there are just 12 games remaining of the season, there is every chance that the ex-Derby County man has played his final game in LS11 and could have his contract ripped up in the summer.
Angus Kinnear must cancel Bamford contract at Leeds United
To have a player like Bamford who is sat earning £30,000-a-week [The Football League Paper] but not playing is something that no club can realistically allow.
This could eventually cause problems, especially if Leeds do earn promotion to the Premier League and prepare to deal with PSR restraints.
As a result, Kinnear has a decision on his hands ahead of his proposed move to become CEO at Everton at the end of the campaign.
In what could be his final action as chief executive at Elland Road, it could prove to be one of the biggest calls to end the Englishman’s current deal.
If the 31-year-old is unable to feature from the start in the second-tier, a division rise is only going to impact him negatively and as a result, it would make sense for all parties to part ways.
It will be interesting to see whether Bamford would accept such a proposal but the Whites have plenty of time to deal with this and reach an agreement before the Championship comes to an end.
