MOT View: The replay that shows whether Leeds should have had a last-minute penalty
So, was it a penalty for Leeds or not?
That was the question on everyone’s lips as we traipsed out of Deepdale last night.
It certainly looked like a penalty in real-time. And when Kevin Friend emphatically waved it away it looked like just another case of anti-Leeds bias.
The score was 1-1 with seconds to go.
Eddie Nketiah had got us back into the game with a laser-guided header after coming on with 15 minutes remaining.
This was the moment that we could have secured an unlikely three points.
Speaking to fans watching it on the red button on Sky, they were convinced as well. But they said there were no replays to confirm it.
However, sometimes you just have to hold your hands up and say you were wrong.
A replay of the incident from the LUFC_Whites Twitter account shows Ben Pearson getting the ball cleanly before Tyler Roberts trips over his legs.
It was no penalty and credit where credit’s due – Friend was in the perfect position to rule it out.

A draw isn’t the worst result in the world but it’s yet another game that Leeds, on the balance of play (67% possession), should really have won.
