MOT View: Reading squad report ahead of clash v Leeds may be huge boost for Whites

Reading are set to be without seven players for their clash against Leeds United at Elland Road this weekend.

Leeds could be handed a significant boost to their chances of picking up three points against the Royals, with a report from Berkshire Live claiming that Mark Bowen is going to be missing a large number of players.

Pele, Jordan Obita, Matt Miazga, Tom McIntyre, Chris Gunter, Lucas Joao and Lucas Boye could all be ruled out of this weekend’s action, which is bound to be a blow for the visiting side at Elland Road.

Defensive midfielder Pele, 28, has been one of the most-used players at Reading this season with him appearing 26 times in all competitions while Miazga, Boye and Joao have also been regular features in the Berkshire club’s side.

Leeds won against Bristol City at the weekend to move themselves three points clear of third place and revitalise their stalling bid for automatic promotion.

Reading’s injury woes by no means mean that Leeds are going to stroll to victory against Bowen’s side this weekend but it certainly makes things a lot tougher for the away side to pick up a win – especially as Marcelo Bielsa’s side is pretty much at full-strength.

Still, the Royals have the likes of John Swift and Ovie Ejaria available, two players who have impressed this season and may prove to be problematic for the Yorkshire giants.

This injury report about Reading’s squad is good news for Leeds but it does not mean we can start getting complacent.
