MOT View: Is this the stupidest take on Leeds takeover talk?

There’s been a lot written recently about a potential Leeds United takeover, with owner Andrea Radrizzani in talks with Qatar Sports Investments (QSI).

The cliffs are that Radrizzani is looking for outside investment, but not immediately. And a source close to QSI told MOT Leeds News that they want to buy more than Radrizzani wants to sell.

Radrizzani did say that QSI could put Leeds in the same bracket as Man City, which has led to fans getting excited and some football journalists getting a little carried away.

Like this one. The Sun pondered what Marcelo Bielsa would do given an open chequebook and ran a story headlined, “How Leeds could line-up under PSG’s Qatari owners with Mbappe, Ozil and Sancho”.

This is their ‘Possible’ Leeds XI at some unknown point in the future.

We’re not quite sure where to start with this.

Possibly in defence, as that’s where the Sun has had problems. Despite all the money we’ve got pouring in, the backline stays the same as it is now, and presumably Ezgjan Alioski is still injured as Stuart Dallas is still playing at left-back.

Kalvin Phillips keeps his place in midfield, alongside Arsenal flop Mesut Ozil (currently on £350,000-a-week at the Emirates!).

We’re playing Jadon Sancho on the left-wing and Jese Rodriguez on the right, despite their strongest positions being on the other flanks.

And the money’s obviously gone to Marcelo Bielsa’s head, as he’s dropped his favoured 4-1-4-1 formation in favour of a 4-4-2, with Kylian Mbappe and Eddie Nketiah leading the line.

We’ve read a lot of things about a potential takeover in the past few months, but this might just be the stupidest.

In other Leeds United news, new Klich deal great news for Leeds but one thing doesn’t add up
