MOT View: Leeds embarrass Sky Sports pundit Lewis Jones after shocking Spurs prediction

Leeds United have embarrassed Sky Sports pundit Lewis Jones with their 3-1 victory over Spurs on Saturday afternoon.

Jones had backed the away side to win easily at Elland Road, and even suggested that the Whites may struggle to win another game this season.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men took that personally and dominated Ryan Mason and his troops, despite their squad having the likes of Harry Kane up top.

Writing on his Sky Sports prediction column, Jones made the claim that he would be backing the Whites to lose their remaining games, that went well.

“I’m keen on opposing Leeds in their remaining fixtures this season,” he said.

“Leeds usually are among the top performers when it comes to analysing goals scored, expected goals and shots on goal but in their last seven fixtures, performance levels have actually mirrored a team battling relegation.

“Spurs should fancy their chances. Even more so if Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha are missing again through injury. Away win.”

Embarrassing.

Reading through this article once again has simply made us laugh, especially given the fact that this was published on Sky Sports for everyone to read.

Jones claiming that the Whites may never win another this season was even worst, how could he actually suggest that after only one defeat in seven against some of the best?

Leeds were sensational at Elland Road this afternoon, and have left Jones red-faced sat on his sofa hiding away from the comments section.

The big problem when making massive claims like these is that they can backfire, and one club you should never bet against is Leeds, they always have an answer.

Bielsa doesn’t pay attention to things like this, but we certainly do, and it is hilarious that this prediction was actually aired through the week.
