Leeds United have three games left in their Premier League season to finish as high as possible after 16 years away.

Marcelo Bielsa currently has his side sitting in the top half, ahead of the likes of Wolves and Aston Villa despite all their money spent.

With this in mind, El Loco could be looking to those who have a point to prove, with even some debutants coming onto the pitch sooner rather than later.

One of those won't be Joe Gelhardt.

As shared by BBC journalist Adam Pope on his personal Twitter account, the unbelievable talent is still missing through injury ahead of the clash with Burnley.

This is a huge blow for the young striker, who will be more determined than ever to jump into the first team against Southampton or West Brom.

Gelhardt was beaten to the top scorer accolade for the under-23s during the past season, as Sam Greenwood pipped him at the last moment while he was injured.

Electrifying.

The young striker has proved it is far too easy in the Premier League 2, but he may not get the chance to prove that until next season.

Beren Cross labelled Gelhardt as "outrageous" recently, and even claimed that he could be the best piece of transfer business ever completed at Elland Road.

Leeds fans will be fuming that they may have to wait months to see a generational talent, especially when there were many opportunities for it to happen.

Gelhardt has been overlooked more than enough times when being named on the bench, and it looks as though he could have missed his chance with only one week to go in this season.
