MOT View: Horror show – 11 touches v Crawley as big-money star lets Leeds fans down v Crawley

You’d have to look hard to praise any of the Leeds United players after a terrible 3-0 defeat to Crawley Town in the FA Cup.

Ian Poveda was perhaps the only player who could hold his head up high and he wasn’t brilliant.

Rodrigo was perhaps the biggest disappointment of the afternoon, though.

This was his big chance to prove that he can lead the line for Leeds and that he deserves a chance at number nine instead of Patrick Bamford.

On this showing, Bamford has that position wrapped up for the rest of the season.

Rodrigo was completely ineffectual as a striker for Leeds and was hooked off at half-time.

In those 45 minutes, he only had 11 touches of the ball [SofaScore] and had a grand total of zero shots on target.

You can’t put the blame for the defeat on Rodrigo but the £27m signing should have had a much bigger impact on the game.

For us, he didn’t seem to be putting in 100% and he certainly wasn’t in the positions he should have been for his Leeds teammates.

He also attempted zero dribbles in a 45-minute display that will leave Leeds fans wondering what he was doing.

We’re fans of Rodrigo. He’s shown some flashes of brilliance for Leeds, most notably in the 3-0 win against Aston Villa.

However, he doesn’t look entirely happy in the number 10 position. And, after yesterday, he’s not gong to be starting up front for Leeds unless Bamford is injured or suspended.
