Gareth Southgate has been thrilled with the effect of Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips during this international break.

The Yorkshire Pirlo has started both World Cup Qualifiers so far against San Marino and Albania and will be hoping to make it three against Poland this evening.

During the first two games, there has been a large group of fans who have slammed Phillips, making the anti-Whites agenda clear.

Speaking ahead of the game with Poland, via the Yorkshire Evening Post, Southgate couldn’t help but shower the Leeds man in praise.

“I have to say I’ve also been really pleased with Kalvin Phillips,” he said.

“We picked him in actual fact before he played a Premier League game. He’s adapted really well to international football, he’s a fabulous character to have around, fantastic athlete and he uses the ball really well.

“We’re very pleased with those two guys in that area of the pitch.”

Silenced.

Every single time Phillips features for England, one simple search on Twitter brings up hundreds of fans slating the Leeds ace for no apparent reason.

Southgate has been delighted with the Whites enforcer, and his continued faith in his selections proves that he will be around the Three Lions for a long time.

Looking at the Albania game, the home side had no attacking momentum the entire time Phillips was on the pitch, but that changed when he went off.

Phillips has been sensational yet again this month.

Should he make it three starts this week against Poland tonight, he will be a clear favourite to start in midfield alongside Declan Rice in the European Championships in the summer.

Southgate is clearly a massive fan, and he is silencing the anti-Whites agenda with each moment of praise for Phillips, who is getting better and better with each game.
