Mateo Joseph minutes limited at Leeds United as Daniel Farke shares update
Mateo Joseph could see his minutes limited at Leeds United after Daniel Farke revealed Patrick Bamford is getting better in training.
The Englishman has made just eight appearances for the Whites this campaign with seven of those coming off the bench in the Championship.
The 31-year-old could be in line for a start in the coming days after his manager praised his work in training, shared by Leeds Live (6 December).
He said: “I have always spoken about how highly I rate a fit Patrick Bamford. You can see at training his confidence is coming back and he is training better and better.
“It depends on the game. It was not a decision against Mateo for example, it was more how the game went and they are different type of strikers. Patrick is a good solution when you need a goal and there is space, I am grateful he is in a good period right now and training more and more.”
This could leave Joseph limited for minutes after starting just one of the last 10 games for Leeds.
Mateo Joseph minutes limited at Leeds United after Patrick Bamford update
The Spain Under-21 international is highly rated at Elland Road but have seen his appearances limited in recent weeks after a lack of goals.
The 21-year-old has failed to net for the Whites since October with his strike against Sheffield United helping to secure an important win.
This has seen Joel Piroe come in as the starting striker for Leeds and has taken his chance, scoring three in his last six games.
Joseph could be fearing for his spot in the squad now, nevermind the starting XI, as it appears Farke has grand designs for the short-term future of Bamford.

The one-cap England international has struggled for fitness this season but with the latest glowing review from his manager about his training performances, a start could be in the pipeline soon.
This could leave the young Spaniard third in the pecking order in West Yorkshire despite starting the season as the first-choice.
