Leicester City transfer news provides boost in Leeds United pursuit of Grady Diangana

Leeds United could be handed a boost in their pursuit of West Brom winger Grady Diangana, as Leicester City are in talks with Crystal Palace over a deal to bring England U20 winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi to the King Power, according to journalist Mike McGrath.

McGrath, who works as a football reporter at the Daily Telegraph, has reported via his personal Twitter account that the recently-relegated side are looking to bring the Crystal Palace academy winger in on loan for the upcoming season.

Rak-Sakyi spent last season on loan at League One side Charlton, where he provided 15 goals and eight assists in his first season in senior men’s football, enough to attract the interest of new Leicester boss Enzo Maresca.

This fresh transfer news could provide a boost to Leeds United in their pursuit of West Brom winger Diangana, who plays the same position as Rak-Sakyi as a left-footed right-winger, able to provide goals and assists cutting in from the wing.

Leeds’ pursuit of Diangana was reported on 1 August, with the Express and Star linking the Yorkshire club with a £7million move for the winger, along with Leicester, Burnley and unnamed Saudi Arabian clubs.

Leeds are looking to capitalise on West Brom’s need to sell players in order to balance the books this summer, with a bargain transfer fee available for a player who has plenty of experience at Championship level.

The Yorkshire club are currently well-stocked in the wide areas, with Willy Gnonto, Crycensio Summerville, Jack Harrison, Luis Sinisterra, Daniel James, Ian Poveda and Helder Costa all still on the books at Elland Road, although at least four of those names have been heavily linked with a move away this summer.

Leeds have also been linked with a surprise move for Napoli winger Hirving Lozano, as they look to move proactively to strengthen the wide areas before they are weakened.

A move for Diangana could certainly be one to watch now.
