Leeds United will make smart investment by signing Julian Quinones

Leeds United are interested in making a move to sign Atlas forward Julian Quinones in the ongoing transfer window, according to Foot Mercato.

The Whites have been extremely active in the market and have signed many players on numerous different positions.

As per the latest update, they are now closing in on signing the 25-year-old who is likely to cost the club in the region of £4.2million.

Decent backup

It almost feels like Leeds will go into next season with a completely different attack to last season. They have sold Raphinha on for big money to Barcelona this summer which means their attack will be weakened with Patrick Bamford and Joe Gelhardt the main outlets.

Therefore, it is clear that they need more players on the attacking front and the signing of Quinones is essential.

He can prove to be an excellent backup for the likes of Bamford and may even start ahead of him in a few games given his 49 career goals.

As the Whites relied on Bamford in terms of goals in the entire season, their form dipped and they had to barely scrape for their Premier League safety last season once he suffered an injury.

Having someone like Quinones will definitely going to ease that burden from Bamford as well as ease the stress of having just one out-and-out striker in the squad for Jesse Marsch.

In other Leeds news, Gelhardt is also close to signing a new contract at the club with a substantial pay rise.
