Leeds United squad must get their act together after Fulham altercation

As if a 3-2 defeat and dropping into the relegation zone wasn’t bad enough for Leeds United, two of their players were in an altercation too.

According to Leeds Live journalist Beren Cross via Twitter, Rodrigo (the scorer of the opening goal of the game) and Luke Ayling were spotted standing up to each other as the loss saw emotions boil over somewhat.

While the passion is commendable from both players, they would be far better suited in expressing it in being simply better at football rather than aiming at their own teammates.

Jesse Marsch’s job is currently under severe pressure due to the run of poor results but he is not entirely to blame for the slump into the bottom three because he is not the one on the pitch doing the hard work.

The American can only do so much and it now seems like the squad of players are starting to give up a little too easily which has contributed massively to the club’s downfall this season.

Club captain Liam Cooper should be standing up as the leader of the dressing room and pulling Ayling and Rodrigo aside for a good talking to about what happened at Elland Road against Fulham and ensuring they do not do such a thing again in the future.

Nobody should be ignoring things that need to be done no matter what their stature at the club and this is something the players themselves should be sorting out more so than the manager.

Leeds United should not be in this position right now having made some very good signings on paper over the summer but if altercations like this keep on happening in a public then something needs to be done pronto.

In other Leeds United news, there could be a need to increase this key element of recruitment despite a £7.1million revelation.
