Leeds United owners will not hesitate to spend £23m transfer war chest
Tyler Adams’ move to Bournemouth will give the Leeds United owners a £23million transfer war chest, which they will not hesitate to spend, according to Yorkshire Evening Post.
The newspaper shared in a report from 2 August that the 49ers are primed to act and bring in replacements if important first-team players leave the club by the end of the month, with plenty of players already in mind.
Adams’ exit will now allow them to do so with £23million plus add-ons in their pocket [The Athletic, 20 August], as they look to improve their squad and most importantly find a replacement for the U.S.A captain.

Following the arrivals of Ethan Ampadu, Karl Darlow and Joe Rodon, Leeds still have work to do in the transfer market to plug the holes that have been left by a huge exodus of players from Elland Road this summer, with release clauses being triggered left, right and centre.
The most glaring gaps in the squad are up front and in midfield. The injury suffered by Patrick Bamford in pre-season has left the Whites short of strikers with Georginio Rutter their main choice there, and they will need to invest to find support for him.
Swansea striker Joel Piroe has been one forward that Leeds have been linked to throughout the transfer window, although his price was said to be prohibiting a move. Armed with a fresh £23million income, Leeds could now be set for that move.
Piroe has scored 41 goals in the last two full seasons in the Championship, making him a fantastic option to fire Leeds to the promotion aims they are looking to achieve.

Following Adams’ departure, there is now a gap in midfield that Leeds will need to fill. They have already brought Ampadu to the club, but he is joined in midfield by youngsters Darko Gyabi, Jamie Shackleton and Archie Gray rather than any experience.
Gray has impressed across pre-season and the start of the Championship season, but it is unarguable that an experienced option would still be needed.
The club have been linked with a move for Norwich City midfielder Kenny McLean, boosted by Daniel Farke’s relationship with him [TEAMtalk, 18 August], and the Adams money would put them in a good position to table the “convincing bid” that is said to be needed.
In other Leeds United news, Fabrizio Romano has shared that the club face a ‘big fight’ to keep hold of a player.
