Leeds United make right call as Edouard Michut set to complete surprise move to Turkey
Leeds United transfer target Edouard Michut has made a surprise move to Turkish side Adana Demirspor from Paris Saint-Germain, as reported by Fabrizio Romano.
Romano shared the news via his personal Twitter account, where he detailed that the deal is an initial loan with an option to buy. A verbal agreement has been sealed with just the documents waiting to be signed.
Leeds were reportedly interested in bringing Michut to Elland Road during the summer transfer window [Fabrizio Romano, 19 July], as Daniel Farke looked to improve the creative midfield options in his squad.
The Frenchman’s new destination should act as further proof to Leeds that their decision not to follow up their interest in signing him this summer was the right call. PSG’s willingness to let him leave permanently with the option to buy suggests he is not particularly highly rated at the Parc des Princes.
There would have been plenty of positives if Michut had arrived in Yorkshire. His loan spell at Sunderland last season meant he already had Championship experience, and his calmness in possession and desire to slow the game down [Leeds Live, 20 July] would have suited Farke’s side.
However, there have been suggestions he’s too lightweight to play regular Championship football due to the fast-paced and physical nature of the league, which often left him ineffective for Sunderland.

The move to Turkey has come as a surprise at this late stage of the summer transfer window, after interest from Leeds and also two Bundesliga clubs [Dominik Schneider, 9 August] which would have seen him play at a higher level.
