Leeds United handed transfer boost as Sam Curtis ‘expected’ to leave his club
Leeds United have received a boost to their transfer plans, with 18-year-old St Patrick’s Athletic wonder Sam Curtis expected to leave the club, according to the Irish Independent.
Despite his age, Curtis is already an Irish Under-21 international, having made his senior debut for St Pat’s at just 15, and is attracting interest from some of England’s top clubs.
90min reported on 22 November that Leeds are joined by Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham in their pursuit, and also by fellow Championship outfits Hull City and Middlesbrough.

Of course, it may be a tough ask for Leeds to beat the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool to the young Irishman, but a clearer pathway into the first-team setup at Elland Road exemplified by the likes of Archie Gray could be enough to persuade him into a move to Yorkshire.
Last season, Curtis was included in the FAI Team of the Year and was nominated for the FAI Young Player of the Year, proving how highly-regarded he is in Ireland despite his tender age and limited experience.
This season in the Irish Premier Division, Curtis has made 34 appearances, scoring three goals and bagging three assists from right-back, and also appeared twice in the qualifying rounds for the Europa Conference League, gaining some top-level experience.

Looking at the likes of Brighton striker Evan Ferguson, who the Seagulls signed from the League of Ireland before he spent time growing in their academy setup, it could be a potential goldmine for talent that Leeds look to exploit.
If they can attract the 18-year-old wonder to Elland Road, it looks like it would be a real coup for the Whites.
